ST. FRANCES BOYS SURVIVE SCARE VS. GIBBONS

The No. 2 St. Frances boys basketball team went on a 9-0 run early in the fourth quarter and held off a late rally by host Cardinal Gibbons to win, 57-50, Wednesday.

Gibbons (10-13) drew within two points with 1:30 left.

Wayne Sparrow had 12 points for St. Frances (17-8). The Crusaders' Dylon Cormier led all scorers with 23 points.

No. 8 Milford Mill 55, Franklin 47: : James Hamilton had a game-high 23 points to power the visiting Millers (16-3) past the Indians (10-9). Max Mendelzon led Franklin with 16 points.

Oakland Mills 56, River Hill 44: : Greg Whittington scored 16 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter to lead the visiting Scorpions (12-5) past the Hawks (13-4).

Girls

No. 7 Seton Keough 48, No. 9 Roland Park 34: : The host Gators (13-9) went on an 11-0 run to start the second half to beat the Reds (15-7). Achiri Ade scored 14 for the Gators; Liz Brown added 12.

No. 11 Catonsville 58, Parkville 24: : Candace McCray had 13 points to lead the visiting Comets (17-1) past the Knights.

No. 12 River Hill 37, Oakland Mills 35: : Shantrel Oliver had 14 points scored 14 to help the visiting Hawks (14-2) past the Scorpions (8-9).
