Raven Barber scored 15 points to lead host Mount St. Mary's men's basketball team to a 64-52 victory over Sacred Heart on Thursday night.
The Mountaineers (6-14, 3-6 Northeast Conference) used an 18-2 run in the second half to pull away and win for the first time in three games.
Sacred Heart (12-8, 5-4) led 42-39, but Mount St. Mary's quickly took control, scoring nine consecutive points for a 48-42 lead with 8:34 remaining.
The Mountaineers then went on their second 9-0 run, going ahead 57-44 on Barber's layup with 5:32 to play.
Shawn Atupem hit a layup to give Mount St. Mary's a 64-46 lead with 1:42 left.
Jean Cajou added 13 points for the Mountaineers, who shot 48.1 percent from the field (25-for-52).
Fairfield 73, Loyola 69: : Anthony Johnson scored 23 points to lead the visiting Stags (15-6, 4-7 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference).
The Greyhounds (10-11, 3-8) outshot the Stags, making 52 percent of their shots to Fairfield's 39 percent, but the Stags scored 23 points off 18 Loyola turnovers to gain the edge.
Brett Harvey led the Greyhounds with 15 points. Lewis scored 14 and Robert Olson chipped in with 11.
Women
Sacred Heart 51, Mount St. Mary's 47: : The visiting Pioneers (15-5, 8-1 Northeast) made 20 of 22 from the free-throw line to help overcome their poorest shooting game of the season, 25.9 percent (14-for-54).
Sacred Heart held the Mount (7-12, 3-6 NEC) scoreless over the last 3:25 of the game. Selina Mann had 12 points for the Mount.
Stony Brook 74, UMBC 56: : Kirsten Jeter scored a game-high 24 points to power the Seawolves (6-14, 4-4 America East) past the Retrievers (9-12, 3-5).
Michelle Kurowski had 13 and Carlee Cassidy had 12 points for UMBC.
Delaware 72, Towson 49: : Blue Hens coach Tina Martin got her 250th win as Delaware improved to 13-6 (5-3 Colonial Athletic Association).
The Tigers fell to 9-10, 3-5.
