Friedgen, Meissner, Long added to Babe's Bash

Maryland football coach Ralph Friedgen, figure skater Kimmie Meissner and U.S. Paralympic swimmer Jessica Long will be among the guests for "Babe's Birthday Bash" next Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Sports Legends Museum at Camden Yards. ALOMAR: : Former Toronto Blue Jays and Orioles second baseman Roberto Alomar will be inducted into the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame this summer. The 12-time All-Star will be enshrined in St. Marys, Ontario, with reliever Paul Quantrill, former Minnesota Twins owner Calvin Griffith and statistical guru Allan Roth.

NATIONALS: : Right-hander Tyler Walker, who pitched last season for the Phillies, agreed to a one-year contract Thursday that pays him $650,000 if he's in the major leagues and $120,000 if he's in the minors. Washington designated right-hander Marco Estrada for assignment.

Laurel Park: : Eddie C. set a track record for 1 1/16 miles with an eight-length victory in the seventh race. Trained by Chris Grove, the horse completed the $34,000 optional allowance test in 1 minute, 43.06 seconds - .06 faster than Kurbat last February.
