Terps' Booth selected to ACC's Legends Class

Keith Booth (Dunbar), who helped Maryland to four NCAA tournament appearances as a shooting guard from 1994 to 1997 and has been a Terps assistant coach for the past five seasons, was named to the Atlantic Coast Conference's 2010 Men's Basketball Tournament Legends Class on Tuesday. Booth was a third-team All-America selection in 1997 by the Associated Press and the NABC and is ranked ninth on the Maryland career scoring list with 1,776 points, sixth in rebounds and sixth in steals. He earned first-team All-ACC accolades in 1997 and third-team honors in 1995 and was a second-team All-ACC tournament pick in 1997. The class includes former North Carolina State guard Rodney Monroe (St. Maria Goretti), former Miami center Will Allen (Richard Montgomery) and former Duke and Baltimore Bullets small forward Jack Marin.

More men's basketball: : Morgan State (14-7, 6-0 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) made its first appearance of the season in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 poll, coming in at No. 23. ... St. Mary's (14-3, 7-2 Capital Athletic Conference) fell seven spots in the D3hoops.com Top 25 after losing to Salisbury on Saturday.

Women's basketball: : Kim Acton (Severna Park) scored a career-high 12 points to lead visiting McDaniel (13-4) to an 81-56 victory over York (7-11). Whitney Snoops (Archbishop Spalding) added 12 points, and Sally Grace (Mount de Sales) and Cara Thompson each had 12 for the Green Terror, which extended its winning streak to 13 games and recorded its largest win in the series.

Men's swimming: : Loyola senior Brad Reeser was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Week.

Women's lacrosse: : Vanderbilt senior defender Alex Mundy (Glenelg), a third-team All-American last season, and senior midfielder Anastasia Adam (Severn) were among four co-captains named by Vanderbilt.

Men's indoor track and field: : Navy sophomore Cody Rome was named Patriot League Track Athlete of the Week.

CP Baltimore's parent club seeks to fix financial woes

Crystal Palace, the parent club of Crystal Palace Baltimore, was placed in administration as the second-division south London club seeks buyers and tries to reconstruct its finances. CP Baltimore president Pete Medd said that "while the news out of London is not welcome ... for Palace fans worldwide, we want to assure our supporters and the North American soccer community that this situation does not affect Crystal Palace Baltimore's operation or finances."

Boxing: : Lightweight Thomas Snow (12-1) will fight Jason Rorie (5-5), whose five losses have all come against undefeated fighters, on Friday's Ballroom Boxing card at Michael's Eighth Avenue in Glen Burnie. Other bouts include Darnell "The Ding-a-Ling Man" Wilson (23-9-3) vs. Harold Sconiers (16-20-2), heavyweights; Cecil McCalla (9-0) vs. Jason Champion (4-4), middleweights; Venroy July (2-0-1) vs. Kevin Johnson (3-2), heavyweights; and Derrel Martin (4-11) vs. Dwayne Martin (1-1), lightweights.
