LEE LIFTS TOWSON OVER DELAWARE

Calvin Lee made a go-ahead jumper with 2:45 left to lift the Towson men's basketball team to a 71-68 win over host Delaware on Saturday.

Lee, who shot 9-for-13 from the field, got his first career double double with 21 points and 10 rebounds for the Tigers (4-12, 1-6 Colonial Athletic Association). Robert Nwankwo finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Towson rallied from a seven-point deficit midway through the second half to earn its fourth straight win over the Blue Hens (5-13, 1-6). Delaware took a 67-64 lead with 4:16 left to play on a layup by Josh Brinkley, who led the Blue Hens with 17 points and eight rebounds.

But Nwankwo's dunk and Lee's jumper put the Tigers up for good.

Isaiah Philmore scored 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds for Towson. Josh Thornton had 10 points.

Mount St. Mary's 86, Long Island 67: : Jeremy Goode (17 points, 10 assists) and Kelly Beidler (15 points, 11 rebounds) each posted a double double as the host Mount (5-12, 2-4 Northeast Conference) ended a three-game winning streak for the Blackbirds (7-10, 5-1).

The Mountaineers never trailed and used a 24-6 run in the first half, capped by a 3-pointer by Beidler, to build a 37-15 lead with 3:53 left in the half. The Mountaineers led by as many as 24 points in the second half.

Winston-Salem State 55, Coppin State 42: : Paul Davis scored nine points and pulled down 10 rebounds for the host Rams (5-9).

Kareem Brown scored 13 points and Vince Goldsberry added 10 for the Eagles (5-10).

Lafayette 90, Navy 77: : Ryan Willen scored 26 points to lead the visiting Leopards (12-6, 3-0 Patriot League) past the Midshipmen (8-10, 2-1).

Chris Harris had 24 points for Navy.

Albany 76, UMBC 69: : Chauncey Gilliam scored a game-high 21 points in a losing effort for the visiting Retrievers (1-16, 0-4 America East).

Tim Ambrose for the Great Danes (6-13, 1-3) had 21 points, too.

Johns Hopkins 52, Dickinson 50: : Freshman Peter Scanlon made a pair of free throws with 0.6 of a second on the clock as the host Blue Jays (8-6, 4-3 Centennial Conference) picked up their third straight win.

The Red Devils fell to 0-13 and 0-8.

Women

Coppin State 48, Winston-Salem State 38: : Jeanine Manley scored 13 points and the visiting Eagles shot 50.0 percent from the field in the second half to pull away from the Rams.

Coppin State shot just 26.7 percent from the field in the first period and held a 20-19 lead at halftime. But the Eagles made 10 of 20 field-goal attempts in the second half and Manley scored 11 of her 13 points after the break to lead Coppin State to the win.

Manley also added a team-high 10 rebounds, while senior Sesalie Johnson added 12 points.

Morgan State 82, South Carolina State 75: : Corin Adams scored 23 of her game-high 32 points in the first half to power the visiting Bears (6-9, 3-1 Mid-Eastern) past the Bulldogs (5-10, 0-3).

New Hampshire 77, UMBC 67: : Michelle Kurowski scored a game-high 22 points and Top? Obajolu added a career-best 18 in a losing effort for the host Retrievers (8-9, 2-2 America East).

The Retrievers made eight of their first 12 shots and led 20-16 at the 10:35 mark of the first half, but the Wildcats (6-11, 1-4) finished the period with a 23-6 run and held a 39-26 lead at halftime.

Lafayette 46, Navy 43: : Arvin Chey went 1-for-2 from the free-throw line with 26 seconds left to bring the visiting Midshipmen (9-9, 1-2 Patriot League) within two, but no closer.

The Leopards (4-13, 2-1) led most of the game, before LaKeisha Wright made two free throws for a 43-42 advantage with 1:49 to play.

Lafayette held Navy to one point in the final minute of play.

McDaniel 72, Franklin & Marshall 66: : Ashley Lyles led all scorers with a season-high 18 points to pace the visiting Green Terror (10-4, 8-2 Centennial Conference) past the Diplomats (8-7, 4-6) in its 10th straight win.

Dickinson 51, Johns Hopkins 49: : Chantel Mattiola (nine points) made a 3-pointer with 46 seconds left to bring the host Blue Jays (7-7, 5-5 Centennial) within two points, but no closer.

Carole Dempsey led all scorers with 18 points for the Red Devils (10-4, 6-4).

Lyndsay Burton led for Hopkins, scoring 15 points.
