The Department of Health's division of environmental health is preparing to start annual wet season site evaluations and percolation tests. Applications for mound sewage disposal systems must be received by Feb. 1. All other applications must be received and scheduled by April 1. Continuing servicesThe Anne Arundel County Department of Health offers:
•Adolescent health services, providing confidential, free or low-cost health education, pregnancy testing, birth control, exams, testing and treatment for sexually transmitted diseases, counseling, referrals and family planning services. Clinic services are available at North County Health Services (410-222-6625) and Parole Health Center (410-222-7247).
•Family planning services with free pregnancy tests, counseling, low-cost exams, lab tests and low-cost birth-control supplies to women younger than 25. Call 410-222-7144 for an appointment.
•WIC supplemental nutrition program provides free nutritious foods, nutrition education, breast-feeding support and resource referrals. To qualify, county residents must meet income guidelines. Call 410-222-6797 or 410-222-0139 (Spanish).
