Top-ranked Calvert Hall, led by Jonathan Graham with 20 points, beat host John Carroll in basketball, 74-48, Tuesday.

The Cardinals (11-2) are coming off last week's tournament championship at the Benedictine Capital City Classic in Richmond, Va. Calvert Hall led 17-10 after the first quarter. Calvert Hall led by as many as 26 points.

The Patriots' Malcolm McMillian led all scorers with 25 points.

No. 5 City 75, Walbrook 47: : Jordan Latham had a game-high 19 points as the host Knights (8-0) beat the Warriors. Michael Cheatam and Nick Faust added 13 and 12 points for City, respectively.

No. 7 Old Mill 71, Broadneck 57: : Mike Holley had a game-high 28 points to power the host Patriots (6-2) past the Bruins. Trey Byes led Broadneck with 20 points.

No. 12 Dunbar 77, Mervo 45: : Devante Wallace had a game-high 18 points to lead the host Poets (5-2), who trailed for most of the first half, past the Mustangs (2-7).

Girls basketball

No. 5 Digital Harbor 53, Lake Clifton 8: : Asia Logan had a game-high 12 points to lead the Rams (4-2) past the Lakers. No. 7 River Hill 60, No. 15 Howard 48: : Chantrelle Oliver scored 19 points and Alex Vega added 18 to power the visiting Hawks (8-1) past the Lions (7-2).

Boys soccer

Mount St. Joseph coach Mike St. Martin, who led the Gaels to the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference championship this fall, has been named the National Soccer Coaches Association of America/Adidas regional Coach of the Year.

St. Martin, also The Baltimore Sun's Metro Coach of the Year, guided the Gaels to a 13-3-3 mark and the area's No. 1 ranking.

St. Martin will receive his award at the NSCAA National Convention on Jan. 16 in Philadelphia and becomes a finalist for the National Coach of the Year award. He has coached the Mount St. Joseph program for the past 10 years.
