AACC class registration

Registration for winter classes offered by Anne Arundel Community College is being held at the seven senior activity centers operated by the Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities. Classes begin the week of Jan. 11.

To obtain a class schedule, visit the senior center you wish to attend or go online at aacounty.org/aging and click on a center for its list of courses, or call 410-777-2241.

Scholarships at AACC

* The IKO Foundation Inc. has donated $100,000 to scholarship funds at Anne Arundel Community College and contributed to a student emergency fund.

The college plans to award 25 scholarships of $1,000 each toward students' spring tuition.

Memorial breakfast

Tickets are on sale now for the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Breakfast being held Jan. 18 in Anne Arundel Community College's David S. Jenkins Gymnasium on the campus, 101 College Parkway in Arnold. U.S. Rep. C.A. Dutch Ruppersberger will be the keynote speaker.

The event honors local residents and civic leaders who best emulate the spirit of King and salutes the winners of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. essay contest.
