Martinez leaving MASN to be Blue Jays' play-by-play man

Television broadcaster and former Blue Jays catcher Buck Martinez is leaving MASN for Rogers Sportsnet to do play-by-play for the Blue Jays' telecasts. Martinez served as color commentator for Orioles games for the past seven years. "He is a true professional," MASN spokesman Todd Webster said in a statement. "While we will miss his energy and expertise during our broadcasts, we recognize his unique opportunity to not only return to the team for whom he played, managed, and broadcast for two decades, but to take on the new challenge of doing play-by-play."

Maryland junior Katie O'Donnell won the 2010 Honda Sports Award, designating her as the nation's top female athlete in college field hockey. O'Donnell led the nation in points (87) and assists (31). She holds both the Atlantic Coast Conference and Maryland career assist records with 74. She is the fourth Terp to win the award.
