Brooke Griffin, South River, midfielder, senior

Griffin, a four-year starter, saved her best for last. She led Anne Arundel County schools in points with 48 - 23 goals and 25 assists. She had a goal or an assist in every game, including five game-winning goals and three game-winning assists. Griffin set a career scoring record with 127 points (56 goals, 71 assists) and last week learned her No. 11 jersey is being retired - a first in Seahawks history.

"She's a game-changer, a playmaker, a leader and a positive role model," South River coach Katie Corcoran said of her team captain. "She has drive and desire. When we'd come up with something new on a corner play, she'd take it one step beyond what we had imagined. One more step, one more pull, one dodge. It was phenomenal."

Griffin said she has the most fun setting up her teammates.

"I love playing defense and helping our goalie, and I do what it takes to make an assist successful," she said.

Griffin will attend Maryland next fall on a lacrosse scholarship.
