Elizabeth Brown
Centennial, hitter, junior
* After playing in the shadow of Brostrom last year, Brown stepped to the forefront to lead the Eagles offense this season
* Posted a team-high .974 serving percentage
* Led the Eagles with 154 kills and was second in digs (165)
* Had her best game at Marriotts Ridge, where her 15 kills and 12 digs helped the Eagles avoid an upset
* Recorded 21 digs in a 3-1 win over Mount Hebron in October
Lillie Happel
Covenant Community School, hitter, senior
* Displayed leadership in propelling the home-schooled Bravehearts (21-2) to a berth in the MD/DC Private Schools tournament semifinals
* Led the team to a national championship in the Silver Division of the National Home-Schooled Volleyball Association Tournament in Omaha, Neb.
* Led Covenant in kills (429), aces (98), digs (344) and blocks (17)
* Had best game against Archbishop Spalding in September, when she recorded 28 kills, 19 digs and eight aces in a four-game match
* Will play volleyball at Liberty University next year
Christi Laite
Severna Park, hitter, senior
* A big presence at the net, Laite, 6 feet 2, led the Falcons (15-3) to the Anne Arundel County title
* Recorded 105 kills, 56 aces and 29 blocks to lead the Falcons
* Falcons coach Jamie Leventry called her the cornerstone of the Severna Park program
* Was named Anne Arundel County Player of the Year by county coaches
* Is considering scholarship offers from Delaware, North Carolina-Wilmington and American
Kat Lincalis
Towson, setter, senior
* Led Towson to an 18-1 record and a berth in the state semifinals
* Recorded 45 assists in the Class 3A state semifinals, where the Generals nearly upset heavily favored River Hill
* Had 278 assists and served at 98 percent
* Led Generals in digs with 153
* Hopes to make UMBC volleyball team as a walk-on next year
Megan Rosburg
River Hill, hitter, junior
* Fiery player led the Hawks (17-2) to the Class 3A East regional championship and a berth in the state finals
* Was rarely off of the court
* Had 12 digs and 14 kills in upset of Centennial in regional final
* Finished with 124 kills, 127 digs and 11 blocks
Kourtney Salvarola
Broadneck, hitter, senior
* Has perhaps the hardest swing of any hitter in the area.
* Began Class 4A state championship match with a thundering kill that set the tone for the match
* Four-year varsity player who leaves with three state championships
* Had 157 kills, 141 digs, and 36 aces to lead the Bruins (17-2) in all three categories
* Will play softball at South Florida next year
Laura Whitney
River Hill, libero, senior
* Recorded 31 digs in a victory over then-No. 1 Centennial in the regional final* Finished season with .920 serving percentage, 225 digs and 35 aces
* Was the anchor of River Hill's formidable defense
* Led by example and often served as a calming influence for the Hawks' younger players
