Owings Mills man gets life term in Columbia shooting

A 24-year-old Owings Mills man who was convicted in October of first-degree felony murder and first-degree armed robbery was sentenced Tuesday to life in prison, plus 30 years, in Howard County Circuit Court. Lamont Johnson had been found guilty in the murder of Jason Batts during a botched robbery in Columbia in May 2008.

Baltimore man gets 2 life terms, 20 years for murder

A 20-year-old Baltimore man convicted of murder was sentenced to two consecutive life terms plus 20 years in Baltimore Circuit Court on Tuesday, the Baltimore state's attorney's office announced. According to testimony at his jury trial, Jamal Anderson, of the 3000 block of Glenmore Ave., fired at least 10 shots Aug. 7, 2008, fatally wounding 17-year-old John Person, who died nine days later.

Man's bound body found in Northeast Baltimore

City police are investigating after a man's body was found bound in a home in the 4700 block of Glenarm Ave. in Northeast Baltimore. Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said that police were called to the home at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
