On November 27, 2009, passed away at the Gilchrist Center. Miss Barker was the daughter of the late Florence Virginia (Schaefer) Barker and Raymond Edward Barker. She was born August 29, 1920 in Baltimore, Maryland. Miss Barker graduated from Western High School in 1937. She obtained her degree in Education from Towson State University in 1941. Miss Barker taught sixth grade at Windsor Hills School No. 87. She later became a guidance counselor. She spent many summers as a camp counselor at a girl's camp located in the Adirondack Mountain region of New York. Miss Barker volunteered at Cylburn Aboretum and The Radio Reading Network of Maryland. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, December 4, 2009 at 11:30 A.M. at Loudon Park Cemetery, 3620 Wilkens Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland.
