On Friday, November 13, 2009, BRADSHAW F. ARMENDT, JR. Born in 1930 in Sherman, TX, Brad Armendt was raised in Baytown, TX and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School, where he played guard on the football team. He married his beloved wife, Jean Kleine, in 1951. They met while attending Rice University, and in 1953, he graduated with a degree in physics. Shortly afterward, he joined the U.S. Army Ballistics Research Laboratory at Aberdeen Proving Ground. He was a member of the Scientific Staff and also received the Department of the Army Meritorious Civilian Service Award. After 32 years, he retired in 1985 as Branch Chief in the Vulnerability/Lethality Division. In addition to his wife, Jean, he is survived by his son Dr. Bradshaw Armendt, III and wife Jenny of Scottsdale, AZ, daughter Katherine Sorci and husband Ross, of Annapolis, MD, and daughter Caroline Armendt of Bel Air, MD; six grandchildren, Alexander and Benjamin Miller, Jessie and John Armendt, and Ross Joseph and Nicholas Sorci. Mr. Armendt is also survived by his sister, Katherine Armendt c Interment private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Salvation Army or to a favorite charity.
