Joppatowne running back Epe Henriques will finally return to M&T; Bank Stadium next weekend, and he'll be able to bring all his teammates with him this time.

Henriques ran for 148 yards and two touchdowns Friday night, doing most of his work in the second half as No. 6 Joppatowne held on for a 20-13 victory over visiting Allegany in a Class 1A state semifinal.

The Mariners will meet Catoctin in the state title game next Saturday at M&T; Bank Stadium, a place that Henriques has longed to see again. In addition, it's Joppatowne's first trip to the final since 2004, when the Mariners fell to Dunbar.

"I've been there to watch the Ravens only one time," Henriques said. "Now I'll get to play there."

Henriques ran for 117 yards in the second half as Joppatowne (13-0) gave him the ball 20 times. The Mariners repeatedly ran "44 Super Power," where Henriques gets the ball on a quick toss, and he kept making yardage.

"We made the right plays at the right time," Joppatowne coach Bill Waibel said.

Henriques ran for a 1-yard touchdown in the second quarter for a 6-0 lead. Quarterback Dominic Harper (100 rushing yards) then threw a 13-yard touchdown pass to Ernest Hawkins on the next drive - and ran for the two-point conversion to make it 14-0.

Allegany's Dustin Wharton (157 yards) then ran for an 86-yard touchdown to make it 14-7 late in the third quarter. JD Hook (118 yards) followed with a 26-yard touchdown run with 9:25 left in the game.

Allegany (9-4) appeared to tie the score when John Carpenter kicked the extra point, but the officials said Joppatowne jumped offside, moving the ball half the distance to the goal. The Campers gambled and went for two, but Chris Wright stopped Hook's run to keep a 14-13 lead.

Wright made a key fourth-down tackle later, giving Joppatowne the ball back at the Allegany 37-yard line, and four plays later Henriques ran for a 15-yard touchdown and a 20-13 edge.
