Guy Skord scored the game-winner with 20 minutes left to lift visiting No. 8 Broadneck over No. 9 South River, 2-1, Thursday in a Class 4A East regional semifinal.
The Bruins (13-2-1) advance to Tuesday's regional final, where they will host Leonardtown.
Josh Schwartz gave Broadneck a 1-0 lead five minutes into the game, which held up in the first half. Anase N'Gadi knotted the score, 1-1, at the 50th minute of the second half for the Seahawks (15-2).
Atholton 3, Centennial 1: : Christian Villorroel scored twice to power the host Raiders (9-5) past the Eagles in Class 3A East. Atholton hosts Mount Hebron, a 2-1 winner over Wilde Lake, in Tuesday's regional final at 7 p.m.
No. 10 Hereford 2, C. Milton Wright 0: : The host Bulls took a 2-0 lead in the first half and held on to beat the Mustangs. Laura Ewell scored for Hereford.
South River 3, Leonardtown 0: : LaRel Rogers scored twice to power the visiting Seahawks past the Raiders in a Class 4A regional semifinal. Sadie Lowe had five saves for Leonardtown, two more than South River's Lyndse Hokanson.
No. 7 Century 1, Poolesville 0: : Alice Mercer scored the game-winner five minutes into the second overtime to lift the host Knights (16-1) past the Falcons (9-2) in a Class 2A West regional final. Century faces Glenelg in Wednesday's state semifinal at Broadneck. Century made the state semifinals last in 2007.
No. 9 Fallston 5, Elkton 0: : Jenn Ward scored twice in the first half to power the host Cougars (15-3) past the Golden Elks in a Class 2A North Regional final. Fallston advances to Wednesday's state final at Broadneck at 5 p.m. vs. the winner of Easton/Kent Island. Fallston won the state title the past two years in a row, but at the Class 3A level.
No. 11 Reservoir 3, No. 10 Mount Hebron 2: : Julie Poston hit her 1,000th career kill as the host Gators (11-4) beat the Vikings (9-6) in a Class 3A East first- round game. Reservoir faces host River Hill at 6 p.m. in Monday's quarterfinal. Reservoir won, 25-21, 17-25, 22-25, 32-30, 15-11.
Class 1A South Regional Finals: : Dunbar swept the event, with the boys winning with 64 points and the girls with 22. Luther Westbrook finished first overall with a time of 17:59 for the Poets. Jessica Pachall finished second overall for Dunbar girls at 23.14. Dunbar advances to the state finals at Hereford on Nov. 14.
