Two men were shot Tuesday, one of them fatally, while each victim sat in cars on opposite sides of the city.
Baltimore police said they believe the shootings are not related.
No arrests had been made.
The names of the victims were withheld pending notification of family members.
About 6 p.m., Western District police responded to the 1300 block of W. Fayette St. near North Carey Street.
There they found a man seated in a car who had been shot at least once in the head.
The man was taken by a city Fire Department ambulance to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he later died.
Police were attempting to learn whether the fatal bullet was fired from outside the vehicle or inside.
Three hours later, Northeastern District police found a man sitting in a car in the 2400 block of Pickering Drive.
The man was bleeding from at least one bullet wound.
He was taken by ambulance to an area hospital.
His condition was not available.
