Arden House benefit

The YWCA of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County is holding a $50,000 "Make Dreams Come True" cash raffle. All proceeds will benefit Arden House, a domestic violence safe shelter, and the programs of the YWCA.

Winning tickets will be drawn at the YWCA Disco Magic Gala on Nov. 6 at the Sheraton Annapolis. Winners need not be present.

Art contest

FastFrame, a custom picture-framing store, is holding its Art Contest for Kids. Children ages 6 to 10 are encouraged to create a piece of art based on the theme "My Favorite Place." Artwork will be accepted in the store at 505 S. Cherry Grove Ave. in Annapolis through Nov. 14. First and second place will be chosen, and both pieces will be framed. The second-place work will be on display at the store, and the winning artwork will be sent to the corporate office in California to be judged in a national contest.

Citrus sale

The Marriotts Ridge High School Music Department is holding a fruit sale to help students raise funds for their spring trip. Monthly sales will continue through February. Available this month are grapefruit, navel oranges, tangerines and a variety pack. Deadline for orders is Friday, with a pickup date at the school, 12100 Woodford Drive in Marriottsville, on Nov. 21.

Craft show

The Pasadena Senior Activity Center, 4103 Mountain Road, will hold a craft show from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday and Friday. All classes and activities, with the exception of exercise classes, will be canceled.

Musical director needed

Children's Theatre of Annapolis is seeking a director for its spring production of "Willy Wonka Jr.," which is scheduled to be performed in March.
