JACQUELINE RUBIN SACHS, age 71, died on March 18, 2009 surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Detroit, MI on February 7, 1938, she was raised in Chicago, IL and devoted her life to teaching. She was a graduate of South Shore High School, Chicago's Teacher College and Chicago State University. In 1970 she relocated with her family to Miami, FL and received her masters degree in education in 1975 from the University of Miami. From 1980 until her retirement in February 2009, Jackie taught in Anne Arundel Public School System, most recently at Magothy River Middle School. She was preceded by her husband, former Alderman, Joe Sachs. She is survived by her sisters, Frances Freedman of Los Angeles and Marcy Beth Freedman; brother-in-law Dr. Timothy Siglock of Croton-on -Hudson, NY; daughter Sheri Stracener of Austin TX; son Richard Glabman of Tampa, FL; daughter and former son-in-law Deborah and Bill Love of Annapolis; and grandchildren: Rhiannon Stracener of Austin, TX, Callahan Glabman and Sarah Glabman-Clarke of Dallas, TX, Nicole Maness and David Love of Annapolis, and Jake and Sean Love of Millersville, MD. A Celebration of her life will be held at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts, Room 308, 801 Chase Street, Annapolis, MD on Saturday, March 21st from 3 to 6 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to The American Cancer Society or Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts. Online condolences can be made at ratejackiesachs/homepage.aspx
