Waltz With Bashir : **** Though this autobiographical cartoon documentary failed to win the best foreign film Oscar, even Henry Selick, director of that vastly different animated feature Coraline, pointed to it as a boundary-pushing accomplishment. It details director Ari Folman's participation in the Israeli occupation of southern Lebanon with psychoanalytic intimacy and intensity, and dreamlike as well as veracious imagery.
