Philanthropist, U.S. chief of protocol
Leonore Annenberg, the widow of billionaire publisher Walter Annenberg who continued his tradition of philanthropy and patronage of the arts, died yesterday of natural causes in Rancho Mirage, Calif.
Mrs. Annenberg was chairwoman and president of the Annenberg Foundation. She had led the institution since her husband's death in October 2002. She also served as U.S. chief of protocol during President Ronald Reagan's first term.
