Mimi Horensky

Mimi Horensky loves her jeans, and all her friends know it. "My signature is a great pair of jeans, some heels and a fun top." The 38-year-old, stay-at-home Guilford mom says she must have about 50 pairs of jeans in her closet.

She has always loved fashion and likes to create a personal style that combines being "fashion-forward and elegant and comfortable all at the same time." She had certainly accomplished that objective when we "glimpsed" her at the CityPeek Happy Hour at Lebanese Taverna, in Harbor East, a benefit for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

The look: : BCBG silvery plum silk tunic with tie drop waist. High-waisted skinny Rich & Skinny jeans. Black suede almond-toe Jimmy Choo boots. Black patent leather convertible hobo Botkier handbag. Big silver hoop earrings. Cartier "Pasha" watch.

Where it came from: : She found the tunic at the BCBG outlet at Arundel Mills. Her jeans came from Classic Serendipity. Her handbag was a Nordstrom find. Her boots and watch were gifts from her husband. And her earrings are old favorites.

Her closet is her playroom: : "[When I get dressed,] I usually start with one piece and then play around. My favorite thing is to go into my closet and play. I sort of immediately know what looks good, what feels good. I've had an occasion when I've planned an outfit for days. And then I put it on and it doesn't work. I don't feel it. You have to feel it."

She's an admitted shopaholic: : "It's embarrassing. I do shop a lot - a few times a week. I do a lot of shopping online. I feel shopping in Baltimore is a bit limited, which is probably a blessing. But, I do frequent Nordstrom, South Moon Under. I hit the boutiques every now and then."

How the economy has affected her "habit": : "It's nice to get something on sale, and these days everything is on sale. It's nice for shopaholics like me. ... I do get a rise out of something that I've fallen in love with and get a good deal [on]; that's fabulous. But if I see something that I must have, I figure out how to get it. I'll save up for it."

Recycling for a different type of "green": : "I sell a lot of my clothes on consignment to Vogue Revisited on Roland Avenue. For years, 15 or so, I've been giving [the owner] bags and bags of clothes. And she sends me a couple hundred dollars a month or so."

On being a jeans-aholic: : "I'm always on the search for the perfect pair of jeans. I wear jeans with pretty much everything. I love Seven [for All Mankind], Citizens, the Rich & Skinny's ... Paige. I love Paige jeans."
