JOSEPHINE "JOSIE" HABICHT, age 85, died at home Saturday, February 21, 2009, after a short illness. She was born May 10, 1923, in a house just three doors down from the home that she and husband, the late Richard Habicht, built 60 years ago. Josie enjoyed many evenings socializing with friends at Bingo at the Elks Club. Others may remember her and her life partner, the late Ed Baker, through past trips with the Essex Senior Center. Josie was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Richard R. Habicht, Jr., who died in 1975. She is survived by her sons, Richard R. Habicht and John Calvin Habicht and their wives; her grandchildren Scott Habicht, Mathew Habicht, Sandy Kline and Steve Wargo; her great-grandson Taylor Habicht and great-granddaughter Amber Habicht; and speciail friend Debbie Lilley. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, and many friends. In addition, she was preceded in death by three brothers, James, John and Henry Rayner and three sisters, Marquerite Atwel, Helen Long and Lillian Roth.
