Elizabeth M. Holston, 94, passed away at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury, MD, November 4, 2008. Born in San Francisco, Mrs. Holston traveled to Baltimore with a scholarship to the Peabody Conservatory where she met and married Alvan M. Holston. She had a successful career with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and the Carol Dore Quartet at the Belvedere Hotel. Later Mrs. Holston became a teacher for the Baltimore County School system. After retiring, she volunteered at the Johns Hopkins Homewood House and Trinity Episcopal Church in Towson. She moved with her husband to Ocean Pines, MD and continued her volunteer work at the Worcester County Library and St. Paul's By the Sea Episcopal Church in Ocean City, MD. She is survived by a son, Alvan M. Holston, Jr., a daughter, JeriLyn Andrews, and two nieces, Kathleen Snider and Dorothalea Grisbach. A memorial service will be held on March 1, 2009 at St. Paul's By the Sea Episcopal Church in Ocean City, MD. For more information call 410-289-3453 or 302-436-4145.
