Jeppi Nut Co. recalling two peanut products
Jeppi Nut and Candy Co. says it is voluntarily recalling two products that might contain peanuts produced by a company whose Georgia plant has been linked to a salmonella outbreak. Jeppi, which is based in Timonium, announced yesterday that no illnesses have been reported, but customers are being urged to return the products for a full refund. The products were sold in 1-pound clear plastic bags with a Jeppi label marked either "French Burnt Peanuts" with the UPC code 010288915903 or "Sugar Free Chocolate Covered Peanuts" with the code 010288914906. Jeppi President Ted Pavlos said his company doesn't buy peanuts from Peanut Corp. of America, but two suppliers buy peanuts from the company.
BP Solar to sell or rent Frederick site addition
FREDERICK : British energy company BP Solar says it is offering to sell or lease a 140,000-square-foot addition to its manufacturing plant in Frederick. The space was designed for an expansion of the solar cell plant, but a company spokesman in Houston says increased global competition has forced BP Solar to change its plans. The company said in October that it would not use the space to expand production.
Google to compensate some for e-mail outage
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. : Google Inc. is making amends for an e-mail outage by giving 15 days of free service to businesses, government agencies and other subscribers who pay for an expanded version of the product. The concession is meant to placate customers who were cut off from their e-mail accounts yesterday for as long as four hours.
