Richie's pregnant again

Nicole Richie and Good Charlotte's Joel Madden are expecting their second child, Madden announced in a blog post over the weekend. The couple have a daughter, Harlow Winter Kate Madden, who was born in January 2008.

Madden posted this announcement on the band's blog: "I am so happy to tell everyone that Harlow is going to be a big sister! God has truly blessed my family. Hope [you're] all feeling as good as I am right now."

Richie, who is the daughter of singer Lionel Richie, found fame when she starred in the reality show The Simple Life with Paris Hilton. Madden, who founded Good Charlotte with his brother Benji, is from Waldorf.

'Madea' is No. 1

Tyler Perry's Madea Goes to Jail reigned at the weekend box office, opening with $41.1 million, according to studio estimates yesterday.

It was the highest-grossing film ever for Tyler Perry and the film's studio, Lionsgate. Since Perry's 2005 Diary of a Mad Black Woman - his highest previous debut with $30 million - the actor-director-producer's films have frequently opened strongly, while generating little mainstream buzz.

Perry's box office power has lessened recently, but the success of Madea Goes to Jail reinforces the notion that Perry draws the largest audience when he dons a frumpy dress as his trademark grandmother character, Madea.

Landing in second was 20th Century Fox's revenge thriller Taken, which earned $11.4 million in its fourth weekend of release, bringing its cumulative total to $95.2 million.

Rounding out the top 10 movies were Coraline at No. 3 with $11 million; He's Just Not That Into You at No. 4 with $8.5; Slumdog Millionaire at No. 5 with $8.1 million; Friday the 13th at No. 6 with $7.8 million; Confessions of a Shopaholic at No. 7 with $7 million; Paul Blart: Mall Cop at No. 8 with $7 million; Fired Up at No. 9 with $6 million; and The International at No. 10 with $4.5 million.
