Ryan Hoff (Dulaney) scored off a feed from Grant Krebs (St. Mary's) with 5:29 left to lift No. 14 Notre Dame over No. 16 Loyola, 10-9, yesterday at McEachern High in Powder Springs, Ga.

The Greyhounds (0-1) fell behind early but rallied behind Colin Finnerty, who led the team with four goals. Finnerty's goal early in the fourth quarter tied the score at 8 before the Fighting Irish (1-0) pulled ahead on Krebs' third goal.

Loyola tied the score once more with 7:30 remaining when Jimmy Daly (McDonogh) found the net for the second time, but Hoff scored two minutes later to seal the victory.

Jake Hagelin (Boys' Latin) had 15 saves in the loss for the Greyhounds.

NO. 3 MARYLAND 15, AIR FORCE 4:: Junior Will Yeatman's six points on a pair of goals and four assists gave the Terps (1-0) the win over the Falcons (0-1) in the Wounded Warrior Project's Face Off for a Cause at the University of North Florida's Hodges Stadium.

Eight players had multiple-point games for Maryland, which scored eight unanswered goals to put the game out of reach.

Defensively, the Terrapins were led by Farrell, who had three ground balls and forced two turnovers, and Mike Griswold and Max Schmidt, who each forced two turnovers and collected one ground ball.

NO. 6 UMBC 14, DELAWARE 9:: Kyle Wimer had a career-high five goals, and Alex Hopmann (Annapolis) and Matt Latham each added three as the Retrievers (1-0) defeated the host Blue Hens (0-1).

UMBC took a 6-0 lead in the first period, with all the goals coming in the final 7:40. Delaware rallied to make it 8-4 before Wimer scored with one second remaining in the first half to push the lead to 9-4.

The Retrievers scored five of the first six goals in the second half to build a 13-5 cushion and were never threatened after that.

NO. 4 NORTH CAROLINA 20, NO. 9 DENVER 7:: Nine players scored for the Tar Heels (1-0) in their win over the visiting Pioneers (0-1).

NO. 8 DUKE 11, NO. 19 BUCKNELL 7:: Ned Crotty had one goal and five assists to lead the Blue Devils (1-0) past the visiting Bison (0-1).
