Corridor Chamber events

The Baltimore Washington Corridor Chamber of Commerce's 52nd annual Masquerade Ball is scheduled for 6 p.m. Feb. 28 at BWI Marriott Hotel, 1743 W. Nursery Road, Linthicum.

There will be a silent and live auction and performance by The Capitol Steps.

Tickets are $100 per person, $950 for a table of 10.

Leadership Anne Arundel

Leadership Anne Arundel hired Kathleen M. Nieberding as Director of Development.

Nieberding is responsible for raising funds for Leadership Anne Arundel's Executive Leadership Series, Flagship and Neighborhood Leadership Academy Programs.

She will secure sponsorships for events including the Community Trustee Awards, and the Tribute to Community Leadership.

Chamber February events

Southern Anne Arundel Chamber of Commerce announced its monthly activities for February.

A Business After Hours Mixer will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Real Chill Heating and Air Conditioning and the Brick House of Shady Side, 1530 Cedarhurst Road, Shady Side.

The cost is $10 in advance, $15 at the door.

A Business Breakfast, Getting Through a Volatile Market Steps You Can Take Today, presented by Cindy Morgan of Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc. will be held 7:30 a.m. Thursday at 5503 Muddy Creek Road, Churchton. The cost is $15. No walk-ins.

'Changed PR landscape'

The Chesapeake Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America will present an online seminar, "Changed PR Landscape: What Works, What Doesn't," at noon Wednesday in the main conference room of the Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation, 2660 Riva Road, Suite 200, Annapolis.

Social media experts will help communications professionals determine the correct balance of new media and core public relations skills when developing public relations programs.

Staff from Flatiron Communications, IBM Corporation, Clickable, Fleishman-Hillard and Mom Central Casting will provide tips on how new media is defining organizations and brands, how to use the online conversation, and how to blend new techniques and tactics with traditional public relations services.

The seminar is open to the public.

The cost is $10 for members and $14 for nonmembers, and includes registration and beverages.

Attendees should bring a bag lunch.

Registration deadline is Feb. 17.
