GIRLS BASKETBALL

No. 2 Western @ No. 4 City

WHEN: Friday, 5:15 p.m.

OUTLOOK: The Doves, who beat No. 7 Digital Harbor on Tuesday, could clinch a berth in the Baltimore City championship with a win. If City wins, it would need to beat Digital next week to claim the spot. The Knights will try to rebound from last week's lopsided loss to No. 1 St. Frances, but they will need to execute better against Western, which trailed at halftime last season before winning, 55-44, and going on to win a third straight city title.

THE BALTIMORE SUN'S PICK: Western

Dual-meet state finals

Owings Mills took the 2A-1A crown last season for its fourth title since 2002. The Eagles and Overlea (1999) are the only teams from the county to win a title since the meet debuted in 1994.
