BOYS BASKETBALL

Arundel @ Glen Burnie :

WHEN: : Tuesday, 5 p.m.

OUTLOOK: : The teams are vying for the remaining spot in the county championship game, with first-place Old Mill appearing to have a good hold of one of the bids. The visiting Wildcats like a fast pace, with senior forward Auraum Nuiriankh and a deep backcourt continually pressing the action. The bigger Gophers bring scoring balance with seniors Tyler Rudd, Danny Murphy and Justin Kuntz. Arundel came away with an 86-72 win over the Gophers at the J.T. Bogle Invitational in Glen Burnie on Dec. 27. Expect the Gophers to find a way to win a close game.

THE BALTIMORE SUN'S PICK: : Glen Burnie

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Old Mill @ Meade :

WHEN: : Friday, 5 p.m.

OUTLOOK: : Old Mill proved too much for the Mustangs in the teams' first meeting on Dec. 18, as the Patriots rolled, 67-43. It will be interesting to see just how far the Mustangs have come since then. County runner-up Old Mill has experience and quick guards led by senior Ciarra Lucas, while the Mustangs counter with strong frontcourt play from junior Nicole Dixon and senior Rayshell Parker. Both teams remain in contention for a spot in the county title game. Old Mill knows how to win big games and that fact will show up against the younger Mustangs.

THE BALTIMORE SUN'S PICK: : Old Mill
