Winners of the sixth annual "Images of Freedom" poster contest will have their work displayed on Howard County Transit vehicles this month.

They will also be featured as part of the "Images of Freedom" art exhibition at the Columbia Art Center in celebration of Black History Month.

The Columbia Association, in partnership with Corridor Transportation and Howard County Office of Public Information, sponsors the annual contest for Howard County middle and high school students. The contest challenges the students to show what freedom means to them.

The Columbia Association will honor all of the participants in this year's contest with a reception to launch the "Images of Freedom" exhibition, which opens Feb. 20. The exhibition will feature all of the artwork submitted and can be seen during regular hours at the Columbia Art Center. The center is at 6100 Foreland Garth, in the Long Reach Village Center, Columbia.
