Man with knife invades home in sex-assault try

Harford County authorities were looking for a man armed with a knife who forcibly entered the Abingdon home of a teenage girl Tuesday evening and attempted to sexually assault her, according to a county sheriff's office spokesman. The girl told sheriff's deputies that she was watching TV about 8:30 p.m. when she answered a knock at her door and a man forcibly entered the house and pushed her onto a couch while threatening her with a knife, said Sgt. Dave Betz, a spokesman. The girl reported she feared she was going to be sexually assaulted and struggled with the man. She said she fought him off and he then climbed through a kitchen window and jumped to the ground from a rear deck. Betz said the girl suffered minor injuries that did not require medical attention.
