Steelers 6 Ravens 0

It could have been worse for the Ravens. The Steelers took a 3-0 lead on their first possession when Jeff Reed kicked a 34-yard field goal after a seven-play, 50-yard drive. Pittsburgh had a chance to score a touchdown after Deshea Townsend intercepted a pass by Joe Flacco, but a timely challenge by Ravens coach John Harbaugh reversed a Steelers completion to the goal line. It was ruled an incompletion, and the Steelers settled for another field goal.

The score could have been much worse. But thanks to a 45-yard punt return by the Ravens' Jim Leonhard and a defensive pass interference call inside the 5-yard line, the Ravens were able to get on the board after trailing 13-0. The Ravens' Willis McGahee scored on a 3-yard run after the penalty. The Steelers could have tacked on three more points, but Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger threw a pass to the middle of the field and time ran out before the Steelers could spike the ball and run another play. A questionable roughing-the-kicker call against the Ravens had kept the drive alive.

Ravens: McGahee 3 run (Stover kick), 2:40

Steelers 16 Ravens 7

The Steelers scored the only points of the quarter when Reed connected from 46 yards after an 11-play, 51-yard drive that took 5:29. Neither team did much on offense, combining for 80 total yards. Through three quarters, Flacco was just 6-for-20 for 64 yards, while Roethlisberger was 15-for-30 for 241 yards.

Steelers 23 Ravens 14

Steelers safety Troy Polamalu ended any chance the Ravens had for a comeback with a 40-yard interception return for a touchdown with 4:24 left in the game. Until that point, the Ravens had pulled to 16-14 and had the ball with a chance to drive. McGahee's second touchdown of the game with 9:29 left in the final quarter gave the Ravens hope. They stopped the Steelers and forced a punt, but a personal foul backed the Ravens deep in their own territory before the interception of Flacco.

Ravens: McGahee 1 run (Stover kick), 9:29
