Robert S. Pardoe, a retired Baltimore Gas & Electric Co. manager of customer accounts and a Korean War veteran, died of cancer Jan. 9 at Montgomery County General Hospital. The Woodbine resident was 77.
Mr. Pardoe was born in Baltimore and raised on Wilkens Avenue. He was a 1947 graduate of Polytechnic Institute and during the Korean War served in Army intelligence from 1951 to 1955.
Mr. Pardoe went to work for BGE in 1948. At the time of his 1992 retirement, he was manager of customer accounts.
The former Ellicott City resident moved to Woodbine in 1985. He was an active member of the Glenwood Lions Club, enjoyed duckpin bowling and was an avid vegetable and flower gardener. He was also an Orioles and Ravens fan.
Mr. Pardoe was a communicant of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Glenwood, where services were held Tuesday.
Surviving are his wife of 25 years, the former Joan L. Neumyer; three daughters, Marie D. Moore of Jessup, Donna J. Doyle of Westminster and Michele Ann Pardoe of Woodbine; two stepsons, Patrick A. Peach of Louisville in Carroll County and Thomas E. Peach of Eldersburg; two stepdaughters, Marvine E. Jenkins of Gettysburg, Pa., and Teresa Ann Peach of Eldersburg; two brothers, C. Thompson Pardoe of Woodbine and David H. Pardoe of Columbia; a sister, Lyla Sander of New Bern, N.C.; and 10 grandchildren.
