No. 13 Georgetown hands No. 8 Syracuse second loss

No. 7 Michigan State 78, Penn State 73: The visiting Spartans (14-2, 4-0 Big Ten) built a big lead over the Nittany Lions (13-5, 2-3) to win their 10th straight.

Texas A&M; 84, No. 21 Baylor 73: The host Aggies (15-2, 1-1) got their first Big 12 win. The Bears (13-3, 1-1) committed 11 turnovers.

Illinois 66, No. 25 Michigan 51: Mike Tisdale scored 24 points and Demetri McCamey added 17 for the host Illini (15-2, 3-1 Big Ten). Manny Harris had 20 for the Wolverines (13-4, 3-2).

No. 2 Wake Forest 83, Boston College 63: : Jeff Teague scored 29 points and Al-Farouq Aminu had 15 with eight rebounds as the visiting Demon Deacons (15-0, 2-0) tied the best start in school history, set by the 1926-27 team.

Tyrese Rice scored 20 points for Boston College (13-5, 1-2), which has lost three in a row.

No. 3 Duke 70, Georgia Tech 56: : The visiting Blue Devils (15-1, 3-0) overcame their worst shooting game of the season for their seventh straight win. Georgia Tech (9-7, 0-3) started with three straight ACC losses for the second straight season.

Virginia Tech 62, Richmond 48: : Jeff Allen had a double double with 11 points and 12 rebounds and the Hokies (11-5) held the visiting Spiders (9-7) to their lowest scoring output of the season.

Wesley 101, Salisbury 97: : Greg Palmer had 17 points in a losing effort for the visiting Sea Gulls (5-9, 2-3).

Frostburg State 75, Penn State-Altoona 66: : Nick Sefcik and Keith Hazel scored 15 points apiece to lead the host Bobcats (7-6, 4-2 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate) past the Lions (7-6, 4-2).

Frostburg State 70, Penn State-Altoona 54: : Brittany James (Milford Mill) and Caryn Wright (Western Tech) had double doubles to power the host Bobcats (7-6, 4-2 Allegheny Mountain) past the Lions (7-4, 5-1). James had 20 points and 16 rebounds, and Wright had 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Stevenson 50, Penn State-Berks 27: : Ashley Burrell recorded her first career double double (10 points, 10 rebounds) to lift the Mustangs (3-10) over the visiting Lions (4-9).
