Man fatally shot outside Arundel bar
A Baltimore man was fatally shot in the parking lot of an Anne Arundel County bar after a skirmish early yesterday, police said. The victim, Nathaniel Benjamin Wallace, 37, and at least one other person were involved in a fight inside Dietrich's Tavern in the 7300 block of E. Furnace Branch Road and were escorted outside by bouncers, Anne Arundel County police said in a news release. Several minutes later, witnesses told police, Wallace was shot in the upper body. He died at the scene. The gunman fled in a large sport utility vehicle, police said. An employee who answered the phone at Dietrich's yesterday declined to comment. The case is being investigated by the Police Department's homicide unit.
Traffic stop yields guns and drugs
Maryland Transportation Authority Police seized 11 handguns and illegal prescription drugs from three North Carolina residents during a traffic stop on Interstate 95 in Baltimore County on Friday, police said. Officers stopped the driver, Cedric Age, 27, for speeding in a 2008 Chevrolet Impala. Police said that officers searched the vehicle and found the guns under the rear seat. Age and two passengers, Arthur Hicks and Brittanie Dunn, both 25, were arrested. The three were headed to New Jersey. The nine revolvers and two loaded semiautomatic handguns that were recovered were all stolen, police said.

2 sentenced for sale of hydrocodone
Two people were sentenced and ordered to pay more than $11 million Friday for illegally selling nearly 1 million doses of hydrocodone over the Internet. In U.S. District Court in Baltimore, 51-year-old Steven Sodipo of Forest Hill and 49-year-old Callixtus Nwaehiri of Jarrettsville were each sentenced to five years in prison. They were convicted in July of illegally selling 9,936,075 doses of the painkiller hydrocodone; conspiracy to launder money and filing false tax returns. In addition to being ordered to each pay $11,870,119.39, the amount of gross proceeds from the illegal sale of hydrocodone, Nwaehiri and Sodipo were ordered to forfeit their homes, seven cars, money in 33 bank accounts and a business property owned by Sodipo.
Teen charged in death of toddler son
GAITHERSBURG: Montgomery County police say a teenage father has been charged with killing his 2-year-old son. Police say 17-year-old Darryl Powell has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of Zjaire Williams. He is being held without bond in a county jail. Police say the child was found inside Powell's Gaithersburg home Wednesday with bruises and cuts to his lips. A state medical examiner said the boy died from multiple injuries to his head and stomach.
