Owings Mills wrestling coach Guy Pritzker earned his 400th career dual-meet victory last night when his team defeated Eastern Tech, 64-10, at Eastern Tech.
The milestone victory came against Pritzker's longtime friend and former coach, Ray Groszkowski, who mentored Pritzker when both were at Towson 35 years ago.
"The whole team wrestled incredibly," Priztker said after the win. "I never knew my team was this good."
The No. 11 Eagles, who won eight of the 14 matches by pin, built a 25-0 lead before Eastern Tech got on the board.
Julio Trujillo captured a win for Owings Mills (5-0) by pinning his opponent in 5:24. His older brother Jordan earned a 7-3 decision for the Eagles.
Glen Burnie 63, South River 52: : Tyler Rudd was one of three players in double figures for the host Gophers.
Rudd had 21 points as Glen Burnie (7-3) built a six-point halftime lead.
Teammate Danny Murphy had 14 points, seven rebounds and seven blocks for Glen Burnie. Justin Kuntz added 12 points and seven rebounds.
Derrick Sewer had 16 points for the Seahawks (3-7) in the loss.
Glen Burnie is 4-0 in Anne Arundel County league play.
No. 4 WALBROOK 58, BANKS 21:: Roscoe Smith had a triple double as the Warriors (9-1) cruised past the visiting Wildcats.
The junior had 21 points, 15 rebounds and 11 assists while playing only the first half.
No. 6 CITY 79, No. 11 EDMONDSON 69:: The visiting Knights (5-3) took control early against the Red Storm (7-2).
Maurice Johnson scored 19 points to lead City.
MEADE 61, SOUTHERN-AA 57:: Talon Clark's three-point-play with less than a minute left broke a 57-57 tie, and the Mustangs (2-9) held on to defeat the visiting Bulldogs.
Clark finished with 14 points, nine in the fourth period. Brendon Belt had 34 points for Southern.
MOUNT CARMEL 72, ANNAPOLIS AREA CHRISTIAN SCHOOL 61:: Vonzell Groom was one of four players in double figures as the Cougars (10-4) came back to defeat the host Eagles.
