Da'Sean Butler scored 16 points - all but two in the first half - with Darryl Bryant adding 11 and Devin Ebanks 10 for the Mountaineers (10-2), who gave the Buckeyes (9-1) their first defeat of the season. West Virginia has won four in a row since a 68-65 loss to Davidson in the Jimmy V Classic on Dec. 9.
Up by seven at halftime, the Mountaineers extended the lead to more than 20 midway through the second half and poured it on the rest of the way.
Keith Benson led the Grizzlies (8-7) with 20 points, and Erik Kangas scored 15.

Morgan State 70, William Jessup 68:: Jermaine Bolden (Douglass) hit a 15-foot jump shot from the left corner at the buzzer to lift the Bears (5-6) over the Warriors (5-9) in the Shamrock Office Solutions Classic in Moraga, Calif.
Bolden scored 10 points. Reggie Holmes (St. Frances) led Morgan with 21.
George Washington 53, Loyola 35: : Siobhan Prior (12 points) made a three-pointer for the Greyhounds with 7:18 left to cut the lead to four, but the host Colonials finished the game on a 19-3 run.
Loyola (7-5) held George Washington to less than 28 percent shooting in the first 36 minutes, but the Colonials (7-4) hit five of six shots to pull away.
Off the court
Devendorf, 21, was suspended after an off-campus altercation Nov. 1 in which he was accused of hitting a female student on the jaw with the heel of his hand.
