Tonight, Faith Hill headlines The 10th Annual "A Home for the Holidays" Special, the latest edition of this program aimed at raising awareness of adoption.
Initiated by the late Wendy's restaurant founder Dave Thomas - who was an adoptee - and the Children's Action Network, the program offers true stories of youngsters and the families who took them in.
But that's only half the show. Country queen Hill performs, of course, and she has plenty of help, including husband Tim McGraw, Melissa Etheridge, Jamie Foxx and Gavin Rossdale. Also joining Hill are Broadway and TV actresses Kristin Chenoweth, Patricia Heaton of Everyone Loves Raymond fame and movie stars Rene Russo and Martin Short. (8 p.m., WJZ-Channel 13)
Take two:: Donny and Marie Osmond host Rediscovered. It's a special that digs up old audition tapes of wannabe stars who were passed over in their childhood by Hollywood. Now, as adults, they're given another chance to strut their stuff - and risk rejection once again. (9 p.m., WMAR-Channel 2)
It's a mean one: : Pass the roast beast. Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas reminds us to be kind to our fellow Whos - and to not make the poor dog pull our sled. (8 p.m., WMAR-Channel 2)
Late night guests:: Animal handler Julie Scardina visits The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and actor Mickey Rourke stops by Late Show with David Letterman.
