Monkton woman killed when van veers off road
One person was killed and seven others injured in an early-morning crash yesterday, according to Baltimore County police. Princella Schultz, 40, of Monkton was killed about 2 a.m. yesterday after the Mazda MVP van she was riding in went off the road and crashed into a tree, police said. The seven other people injured in the single-vehicle accident in the 15100 block of Manor Road were taken to hospitals, police said. The condition of the other passengers was not known.
Woman injured by smoke inhalation in house fire
A 53-year-old woman was injured yesterday during a house fire in the 100 block of Highland Road, Anne Arundel County fire officials said. The unidentified woman and a man were found by firefighters in the front yard when they arrived at the scene about 11 a.m., fire officials said. The man was unharmed; the woman was taken to Baltimore-Washington Medical Center for smoke inhalation after she originally refused treatment. Authorities said the cause of the fire is under investigation but that it might have been started by a cigarette or candle. The blaze was under control in about 30 minutes, and there was no other damage, fire officials said.
City police searching for missing woman
Police are looking for a 59-year-old city woman who was last seen about 11 a.m. Wednesday in the 1900 block of E. Belvedere Ave. Margaret Nolan, who is also known as Margaret Dabney, suffers from mental illness and might have become disoriented, according to police. Nolan left home that morning to go to a store but did not return, police said. She was last seen wearing a blue fleece jacket, brown stretch pants, white sneakers and a black shoulder bag. Police say she might try to hide in buildings to avoid contact with authority figures.
Dundalk man, 48, is killed in hit-and-run
Baltimore County police are asking for help identifying the vehicle that struck and killed a Dundalk man early yesterday. Randy Ervin, 48, was hit at Wise Avenue and Waterview Road in Dundalk, police said. Officers were called to the scene on a report of a man lying in the roadway at 1:38 a.m. An investigation revealed that a vehicle struck the man and continued along Wise Avenue toward Merritt Boulevard. Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call 410-307-2020.
