Young Professionals hold December events

The Young Anne Arundel Professionals, a social club primarily for single professionals to make new friends and share camaraderie, has announced its programs for December.

Activities include networking events at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday at China Buffett, 554-A Ritchie Highway, Severna Park; and 6 p.m. Dec.30 at Brian Boru, 489 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park.

Adoption 101

John R. Greene, a partner in the law firm of Cohen & Greene, P.A., will present "Adoption 101: The Basics of Adoption" for people interested in learning more about adoption laws and regulations.

The session will be held at 7 p.m. Jan. 6, 2009 at the law firm, 156 South St., Annapolis.

The session is free. Advance registration by Dec. 31 is suggested.

Tech council awards

Chesapeake Regional Tech Council is planning "TechAwards 2009," a celebration of regional tech innovation and excellence, and is asking for participation and nominations.

Members are asked to join a committee or invest in TechAward 2009 through sponsorship. Go to for more details.

Nominations are being accepted now through Feb. 1, 2009, for individuals or companies that deserve top recognition for regional tech innovation and excellence.

The Baltimore Washington Corridor Chamber of Commerce has announced its monthly activities for January 2009.

A "Membership 101" meeting for business professionals in the Baltimore/Washington Corridor at 9 a.m., Jan. 8 at the BWCC office, 312 Marshall Ave., Suite 104, Laurel.

Free for members and nonmembers.

Women in Business Breakfast meeting at 8:15 a.m., Jan. 9. Ellen Christian of The Kane Company will do a presentation on "Networking and Sales Tips."
