No. 9 Woodlawn holds on, tops No. 11 Milford Mill, 62-55

Despite Xavier Drake scoring a game-high 25 points, the No. 11 Milford Mill boys fell to No. 9 Woodlawn, 62-55, last night.

The host Warriors (4-2) led by 19 points, but the Millers cut the lead to 10 in the third quarter. Milford Mill got as close as three points in the last quarter.

Corey Thomas led Woodlawn with 16 points.

NO. 8 TOWSON CATHOLIC 65, ST. JOHN'S CATHOLIC PREP 60: : Devin Spencer scored 19 points and Levi Noell had 18 for the visiting Owls (4-2). Towson Catholic was down by two going into the fourth quarter.

KENWOOD 66, CHESAPEAKE-BC 62, OT: : The host Bluebirds (3-2) scored the first four points in overtime to help pull out the win. Tony Green had 19 points for Kenwood. The Retrievers (1-1) made a tip-in with 30 seconds left to force overtime.


NO. 1 ST. FRANCES 60, MCDONOGH 40: : Shatyra Hawkes had 18 points to power the host Panthers (7-0) past the Eagles. St. Frances led 20-8 after the first quarter.

NO. 12 CENTURY 52, NO. 14 SOUTH CARROLL 45: : Cindy Scurci scored 12 points as the host Knights (3-0) beat the Cavaliers (4-1). Stef McLallen had a game-high 20 points, including four three-pointers, to lead South Carroll.

MILFORD MILL 48, WOODLAWN 47: : Devonne Richardson went 1-for-2 from the free-throw line with six seconds left to lift the host Millers over the Warriors (1-2).

Woodlawn's Monyette Hearndon made a layup to tie the score at 47.
