Library raises $115,000

The Harford County Public Library recently raised $115,000 from its fourth annual gala, "Black, White and Read," which showcased classic literature and films of the early to mid-20th century.

The catered affair, featuring food themed around hit movies, also included live music and an auction.

Event aids animals

The Humane Society of Harford County recently held its second annual Walk and Wag-a-thon and Pet Fair, which raised $27,000 to help homeless, abused and abandoned animals.
