JOE FLACCO DOES IT ALL: The Ravens' rookie quarterback threw for a 70-yard touchdown, caught a 43-yard pass and ran for a 12-yard score.

NEW WRINKLE: The Ravens unveiled their two-quarterback offense - playfully called "the Suggs Package" by coach John Harbaugh - in which backup Troy Smith usually plays quarterback and Flacco lines up wide as a receiver. The team used this formation five times (four runs and one pass) and gained 65 yards.

SACKS ARE BACK: Breaking out of its rut, the defense recorded four sacks (Terrell Suggs, Jarret Johnson, Haloti Ngata and Jameel McClain) and had eight hits on Oakland quarterback JaMarcus Russell. The Ravens had just three sacks in their previous three games.

SAFETY FIRST: On the Raiders' second series, McClain beat offensive tackle Cornell Green around the edge and tackled Russell in the end zone for a safety. It was the first career sack for McClain, an undrafted free agent out of Syracuse.

THEY SAID IT: "I was hoping I would catch it. I didn't want to make a fool of myself." - Flacco, on his 43-yard catch.

COMING ATTRACTION: The Ravens play the first of three straight road games when they travel to the Cleveland Browns, who upset the Jacksonville Jaguars, 23-17.
