Ravens 2 Raiders 0

Both defenses stood tall in the first quarter, but it was the Ravens' defense that put points on the scoreboard. Rookie linebacker Jameel McClain, an undrafted free agent from Syracuse, corralled Raiders quarterback JaMarcus Russell in the end zone on a blitz, with help from Terrell Suggs, for a safety.

Ravens: Russell sacked in end zone by McClain, 10:32.

Ravens 19 Raiders 0

After being shut out in the first quarter, the Ravens' offense showed up in a big way. Jim Leonhard gave the Ravens good field position with a 46-yard punt return near the end of the first quarter, and Willis McGahee capped a five-play, 17-yard drive with 14:26 left in the second with a 1-yard touchdown run. Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco took advantage of a busted coverage to connect with wide receiver Demetrius Williams on a 70-yard TD about seven minutes later. Matt Stover added a field goal with 10 seconds left in the half.

Ravens: McGahee 1 run (Stover kick), 14:26.

Ravens: Williams 70 pass from Flacco (Stover kick), 7:26.

Ravens: FG Stover 38, :10.

Ravens 22 Raiders 10

After the Raiders got on the scoreboard with Sebastian Janikowski's 22-yard field goal, the Ravens answered with a field goal by Stover to make it 22-3. But the Raiders drove 69 yards on six plays and scored on a 2-yard pass from Russell to fullback Justin Griffith with 36 seconds left in the quarter.

Raiders: FG Janikowski 22, 10:13.

Ravens: FG Stover 30, 3:18.

Raiders: Griffith 2 pass from Russell (Janikowski kick), :36.

Ravens 29 Raiders 10

The Ravens sealed their victory when Flacco kept the ball after faking a handoff to Ray Rice and rumbled 12 yards around right end. The play came after Flacco's TD pass to Rice was called back because of a penalty on left tackle Jared Gaither.

Ravens: Flacco 12 run (Stover kick), 3:35.
