Reports say Hudson kin slaying suspect in custody
Published reports say a man suspected in the shooting deaths of the mother and brother of Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Hudson is in custody, but the singer's missing nephew has not been found.
Law enforcement sources tell the Chicago Tribune and Chicago Sun-Times that 27-year-old William Balfour is in custody and is being questioned. But they say 7-year-old Julian King's whereabouts are still unknown.
Balfour has not been charged.
Police spokeswoman Monique Bond says police are talking to "a number of people in custody," but she declined to elaborate.
An Amber Alert issued yesterday says Balfour is a suspect in the double homicide of 57-year-old Darnell Donerson and 29-year-old Jason Hudson. Their bodies were found yesterday afternoon in a South Side home.
Appearing as President Bush on the prime-time edition of Saturday Night Live, Will Ferrell offered his political "strategery" to Tina Fey's Sarah Palin.
Ferrell reprised his famed impression of the president on the live "Weekend Update" special Thursday to give an "impromptu" evening address to the nation. He spoke about the race between John McCain and Barack Obama - both candidates, he said, that are "heavily patriotized" and "display much characterization."
He then gave his endorsement to McCain and Palin, something that they apparently didn't want. Ferrell said he was unaware that his approval ratings were low because he had several months ago declared the Oval Office a "bummer-free zone."
A regular episode of SNL will air tonight with Jon Hamm hosting and musical guest Coldplay.
Country music star Tim McGraw, the son of late Phillies star Tug McGraw, will deliver the game ball to the mound with a member of the Boys & Girls Club of America for Game 3 of the World Series tonight at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.
McGraw was invited by the Phillies and Major League Baseball as a gesture to honor his late father, who was a key member of Philadelphia's only World Series championship team in 1980. Tug McGraw died of cancer in 2004.
