'The Wine Coach' hosts Mediterranean tasting
Laurie Forster, the Wine Coach, will host "A Taste of the Mediterranean," an exploration of the flavors of the Mediterranean and wines from Italy, Spain and France paired with cuisine, at 6:30 p.m., Oct. 16 at the Westin Hotel, 100 Westgate Circle, Annapolis.
A representative from Crystal Cruise Lines will discuss culinary cruising and "A Taste of the Med," Crystal Symphony's 12-day Wine and Food Festival at sea.
Tickets are $79 per person and include a gourmet four-course meal, and wine pairings.

Contractor event set for National Harbor
The Minority Building Industry Association will hold a "Retail/Office Tenant Fit out Outreach" event for licensed Maryland contractors with tenant fit-out experience within the last three years at 3 p.m., Thursday at National Harbor, 174 Waterfront St., Second Floor.
The event will provide an opportunity for general contractors, local and minority businesses of various trades to network and learn of upcoming tenant work at National Harbor.

Job fair to be held at AACC on Oct. 16
Anne Arundel Community College and the Anne Arundel Workforce Development Corp. will host a job fair from noon to 4 p.m, Oct. 16 at Anne Arundel Community College, Arnold campus, David S. Jenkins Gymnasium, 101 College Pkwy.
The job fair is expected to attract representatives of more than 90 employers to talk about available positions, accept resumes and interview job seekers.
"Resume Doctors" will be available to provide resume advice.
There will be a workshop for job seekers at 11 a.m. on "How to Work a Job Fair/Networking," in the Student Services Center, Room 224.
Tech council to hold October events
Chesapeake Regional Tech Council announces October events:
"Happy Hour InfoMixer" from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday at the Sheraton BWI, 1100 Old Elkridge Landing Road, Linthicum. The happy hour will feature a tech spotlight on G-Security, Inc.
The cost is $10 for members in advance, $15 for members at the door, $20 for nonmembers.
Green Markets Roundtable: Green Building Technologies from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Thursday at Severn Bank Building, 200 Westgate Circle, Annapolis.
The focus of the roundtable will be green building.

Boat shows slated for two weekends this month
The 39th annual U.S. Sailboat Show will be held Thursday through Sunday and the 37th Annual U.S. Powerboat Show will be held Oct. 16 to 19, both at City Dock in Annapolis, United States Yacht Shows announced.
A VIP event is scheduled for the Thursday of the week of each show.
Admission is $35 for the VIP Press/Trade Day events held on Oct. 9 and Oct. 16. Admission is $16 for adults and $8 for children 12 and under for Friday through Sunday events.

Bay Foundation offers oyster workshops
The Chesapeake Bay Foundation will offer "Oyster Gardening" workshops, lessons on how to grow oysters, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday , and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 18 and Oct. 25 at 6 Herndon Ave., Annapolis. There is a first-time workshop fee of $75. Advance registration is required.
