City man pleads guilty in 2007 fatal shooting
A Baltimore man has pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in a fatal shooting last year, according to the Baltimore state's attorney's office. Marcus L. Pettiford, 22, of the 2000 block of E. 31st St. was sentenced Monday to 50 years in prison, with all but 15 years suspended, and five years' probation. Pettiford approached Tyrone Willie Bonner, 29, in the 1700 block of E. 30th St. about midnight June 5, 2007. The two argued, and Pettiford shot Bonner five times, prosecutors say. Terrell Bridget, 18, of the 1900 block of E. 31st St. was originally arrested as a co-defendant in Bonner's killing. Bridget pleaded guilty on unrelated charges of narcotics manufacturing and possession of an illegal firearm, and is scheduled to be sentenced tomorrow.
