More than 70 organizations will offer more than 300 free events around the city this month. In its third year, Free Fall Baltimore seeks to introduce area residents to the city's cultural opportunities and make art, music and theater more accessible. There will be chances to see live performances, museum exhibits and film festivals at some of the city's premier institutions. There will also be hands-on activities such as glass-blowing and photography workshops.

World Rhythm Drum Circus:

The World Rhythm Drum Circus returns to Port Discovery this month. Kids of all ages will get to perform on percussion instruments made from recycled materials such as barrels, bowls and tubes. The shows are 1 p.m.-3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12 and Oct. 19 outside the museum at 35 Market Place. Go to

John Waters:

John Waters makes an on-screen appearance at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in his greatest role - himself! - in Guest of Cindy Sherman. The documentary is about art-scene commentator Paul Hasegawa-Overacker and Sherman, known for photos of herself with the famous. The show is in Maryland Institute College of Art's Falvey Hall, 1301 Mount Royal Ave.

Lura :

Born in Portugal to Cape Verdean parents, Lura folds African and Western textures into traditional Cape Verdean music. She performs at 3 p.m. Saturday at Shriver Hall in the Baltimore Museum of Art, 10 Art Museum Drive. The concert will be preceded by a tour of African art. Reservations are required.
