ONE LAST SHOT: : Aubrey Huff and Nick Markakis were held out of the starting lineup last night, meaning they'll each need two doubles in today's season finale to give the Orioles the first three teammates with 50 or more doubles in a season in major league history. Huff has been stuck on 48 doubles since Sept. 13, while Markakis has just one in his past nine games.

MAKING IT COUNT: : Brandon Fahey, who made just his fifth start at second base last night in place of Brian Roberts, had a hand in the Orioles' two runs. He led off the third inning with a double off John Parrish and scored the Orioles' first run on Melvin Mora's one-out single. He then drove in Ramon Hernandez on a sacrifice fly with the go-ahead run in the fourth.

NOT THIS TIME: : Brian Bass has held his own since the Orioles acquired him from the Minnesota Twins, but he has had a hard time getting out of the fifth inning. Entering last night's game, he had allowed a total of eight earned runs in three starts and all but one of them came in the last inning. However, last night, Bass pitched a perfect fifth en route to allowing only one run over six innings.
